Carroll single handedly cost us the game against Spurs and the win yesterday and people are still championing this cunt.

At last, now (hopefully) Bilic will pick his best side with Hernandez in the box where he scores all of his goals and Sakho in a supporting role.

We actually played some decent football on the ground in the second so the tactic of lumping the ball in the air for Carroll should be put on the back burner. In fact challenging AC to attack all the wretched high balls was probably his downfall.

I think a major issue is that we keep blowing on our transfer budget on wingers who don't suit our best formation. We are literally playing 424 to accommodate them and Antonios ego.

It's not disingenuous at all. It's a fact. Our results with him in the side are better than without him. As I said below, it just makes it difficult. I hate watching us when he plays. But it's nothing like that clear cut. Hernandez started the season up front on his own and we were atrocious.

Which leaves the obvious argument of Sakho starting. That he's not in the side is his fault, no one else's. If you think Carroll's off field behaviour is bad then I'm not sure how you can possibly advocate the inclusion of Sakho. Carroll has been a saint in his time at the club compared to Sakho

Stewie, agree with most of your views in general but you are being disingenuous in the extreme with that view, over say the last 2 years we've only had 2 strikers worth a rub of salt on our books, yes we've looked much better when Carroll has started over that period, but we've also looked much better when Sakho has started, but he's been more injury prone over that time. It's not an argument for Carroll having to start now because we do have a striker who is better than the pair of them.

Because of his injury record, because of the default setting we go to as a side (long ball as our main/only weapon) and add to that he is a cunt off the pitch, he should not start games. We need to move on as a club, we have an excellent striker in Chicarito, Sakho also gives us more than Carroll all round in terms of starting. Carroll should be nothing but an impact sub.

AC has had too much free time with his missus and nipper... maybe he's gotten used to it...

You only had to look at this ref's stats for the season so far to see we were going to have to watch ourselves. We didn't, and it's cost us 2 points which would have boosted us into the top half of the table.

AC is a sub for the 2nd half as our squad stands now, no debate whatsoever, likewise Nobes, at best is the same.

EVERYONE can see that if Chica and Sakho were allowed to develop a partnership, together with Pedro and (Carvalho?) holding the middle, and Manu playmaking, we would start to tear most opposition sides a new arsehole.

And here we are again... THAT has to be laid at Slav's door 100%. He has an issue with Sakho (who would now stay and be brilliant for us if Slav stopped playing silly buggers with him), and he is now (incredibly) developing an issue with Chica, by playing him out of position and constantly subbing him!

The Sakho sub yesterday was a case in point... Antonio was injured from the first 25 minutes, and was really struggling, yet we take off Chica... I was amazed we didn't make the obvious swap out for an injured struggling player, but I was certainly less amazed than Chica himself.

We're going to piss the guy off, when the answer to our salvation is staring everyone (bar Slav) in the face.

That’s true
But when we didn’t have Carroll we played Calleri so of course our results were shit.
Give Sahko a run. We will play better with him in. More movement, more options , more passing.

We are going nowhere til we ditch Carroll and Dinosaur Football
Leave that to the likes of Dyche with the Kiwi Cunt who scored yesterday.

Im with Stewie on this. My only caveat is he does seem to have got into this silly behaviour style. I suppose its a big battle but he needs to find a less confrontational way.

We were without Sahko
Put him at centre forward.
Goals and no stupid red cards
Sorted

If Bilic can keep Carroll, Ayew and Noble off the pitch he may even keep his job

Only really lanzini? Who, granted, is our best player by a country mile. Same last season though. I'm not sure, I hate watching us when he plays, but our results are much better when he does.

Hopefully Friday whoever plays instead can give bilic something to think about.

Spot on Yarmouth, there is nothing wrong with showing committment and effort, but charging round the pitch like a loony leads to a lot of problems

Re: ⚽ Burnley v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 1-1
The trouble with the Carroll is an impact sub argument is it doesn't require a particularly long memory to remember our performances without him. 0 points, a shitload of goals conceded and Jack shit going forward. Our results and performances have been much better since he came back. That's why successive managers have always picked him when they've needed results.

It's a tough one, on paper I'd agree with all the arguments below but the fact is we've been fucking shit without him for a VERY long time

Thankfully some sensible posts on here mixed within the usual hysteria from the 'Billc out' queens, but I think we're all agreed that Carroll is only any cop as an impact sub - the utterly dense moron.

Re: ⚽ Burnley v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 1-1
Hugely frustrating because on our day we are a good side and could become a very good side.

Sahko simply has to be kept at the club & picked ahead of Carroll, not because of yesterday but because he's a better player.

Had we had 11 on the pitch we would have beaten Burnley so it must be hugely frustrating for Billic.

What can we do with him? On his day he's very effective but I think only as a 'part game' player now.

He simply tries too hard I think and loses his composure which is why he got sent off yesterday. You can't coach that out of him, its a product of his own frustration about not playing as often because of his injury issues. It's a repeating cycle - when he does get the chance he goes full throttle which often leads to strains and pulls and sometimes a loss of control - hence yesterday.

Sven Roeder 11:07 Sun Oct 15
Re: ⚽ Burnley v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 1-1
Until we can get him out the door Carroll has to be a last ten minutes Plan B if we are chasing a goal. Similar to how Wenger uses Giroud.
If Bilic can’t see that after all this time he is an utter fool.

I thought we played well but Bilic still made the fuck up selecting the Geordie sick note. that passage of play when Antonio missed would have been goal of the season, it was superb stuff
